Unique Projects

The main focus of our business has been preserving photographs and film, however sometimes we get the opportunity to take up an unusual request. Listed below are some of our unique projects. We are always interested in working with new ideas and applying our expertise in creative ways. If you think your business, organization, or club, can use our scanning service, please contact us. Remember, we are still offering our Free Sample so you can see our work before deciding how you might want to proceed.

Quilts One of our customers, a not-for-profit corporation, had a quilt made of colorful 12 inch squares. We digitally photographed each square and placed the individual images on a DVD for use in various combinations for promotional projects.

Glass plate negatives Another one of our customers found several very old and very fragile glass plate negatives in his attic. Each was approximately 5 x 7 inches. We scanned each plate using two overlapping scans and formed a seamless composite picture of each plate. (We can now scan glass plates as large as 8 x 10 inches.) We were able to recreate these wonderful old photographs of a town in New York State at the beginning of the 20th century. Now the glass negatives can go to the museum and our customer has photos of his hometown to share and enjoy.

Art We have scanned and photographed drawings, paintings, textiles, and objects thus creating a digital record of portfolios. It is easy and safe for the artist to take a 35mm or medium format picture of the art which we then scan at extremely high resolution.

Business Records Perhaps you have a business that generates paperwork that must be filed and occasionally searched. If so, consider using our services periodically to keep a compact precise record, in any order you choose, on compact disks or DVD's rather than in heavy cumbersome file cabinets.

Medical Slides We had a request to provide high resolution scans of medical slides.

Catalogues One of our customers requested that we scan his product catalogues. Instead of mailing expensive catalogue books, he can send his customers CD's at a fraction of the packing, mailing and handling headaches. His customers can even view his entire inventory on-line.

Event Slide Shows We have been asked to scan collections of photos from yearbooks (and in one case, the entire yearbook) to enable our customer to project images on a screen during a Class Reunion.
